Nancy P. Heady, 70, passed away at home on Noblesville, Indiana on Sunday, April 19th. She was born January 23, 1945 in Temple, Texas to Clarence and Rebecca (Winters) Kraft, and her daughters always appreciated that she had the easiest birthday to remember (01-23-45). She graduated from Garfield High School, Terre Haute, and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University School of Nursing.
Friends and family alike enjoyed her keen sense of humor and her razor-sharp wit, and she was extremely proud of being a critical care nurse at Methodist Hospital in the Open Heart Recovery Unit. But Nancy was even more proud of her blended family of five daughters. Prior to her vision failing, she was an avid gardener who enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing, playing bridge and listening to many types of music.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Sarah. Nancy is survived by her sisters, Karen Konegen and Kathryn Goodman; daughters, Laurie Gorden, Jennifer Gorden, and Anna (Adam) Bennett; former step-daughters Eileen Heady and Jessica Heady; granddaughters, Madison, Iris and Lily; grandsons, Owen, Henry and Joseph; eight beloved nieces and nephews; and fifteen great nephews and nieces.
Nancy’s family will have a “Celebration of Life” at a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foundation for the Blind or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
